Indie Acoustic Folk:
The Whiskey Wasps consist of newlyweds Billy Schmidt and Rachel Alexandria DuVall-Schmidt (RADS), founders of Raggy Monster. Hailing from West Palm Beach, their hauntingly soothing sound and thought-provoking lyrics have built up a loyal following ranging from teens to old-timers. They are currently working on a year long youtube project called “52 Weeks Under The Covers”. Their first self-produced EP is currently in the works for a 2016 release date, and promises to be “well worth the wait”.

Teri Catlin is a singer/songwriter in the rock/R&B tradition whose music is original and authentic–and a live performer whose stage presence is captivating and charismatic. A multi-instrumentalist Teri plays guitar, bass guitar, piano, violin, and drums. Teri says of her work: “If I had to choose one word to describe what I do, I’ve always seen myself as a storyteller. No matter what kind of songs I write–from love ballads to political, social, and/or environmental issues–I’m always telling a story, painting pictures with words, melodies, and the sound of my voice. And I’ve always preferred live performance in front of an audience. That’s where the songs take on a life of their own, night after night.”

Chemradery. It’s not a word in the English dictionary, but it might very well make it there if this band has anything to say about it. Led by vocalist Gregory Scot Dyer, and guitarist Ivan Alexander, Chemradery came about when two innovative minds merged their passion for music together, to create a sound that would not only inspire, but leave a lasting impression; on themselves and the listener.

All of Chemradery’s members are seasoned musicians in their own right. Gregory had spent several years singing professional Opera with the Palm Beach Opera Company. Ivan performed with multiple touring acts, and worked as a session guitarist. Joe Louis and Larry Dinan were both brought over from previous projects of Greg and Ivan’s. Mark Jacobs, off the road from playing on a national tour with several bands, joined in as the band’s bass player.

In the midst of performing around parts of Southern Florida with their respective bands and projects, the band began songwriting sessions. Instantly, the ‘Chemradery’ began to take shape. The chemistry and camaraderie was evident every time they got together to create music.

In a little over a year of playing together, Chemradery has played the Special Olympics ‘Relay Across America’ Torch Ceremony, headlined the 4th On Flagler Independence Day Festival; sharing the stage with The Voice’s Jacquie Lee, and they’ll end the year by playing alongside Adam Lambert and Third Eye Blind for 97.9 WRMF and Sunny 107.9’s annual ‘No-Snowball’ concert.

Melodic verses and choruses, simplistic; yet memorable lyrics about the positives and negatives of everyday life, and tasteful instrumentation that tie it all together. That is Chemradery. The fellowship, interaction, and common bond of everyday people, whose sole purpose is to tell a story through their music; a story that you can’t stop reading. That is Chemradery.

The Kinected is an original band who’s fresh and unique sound can be defined as a cohesive blend of pop, electro and indie rock. The music is a recipe of rhythmical guitar with bass grooves that roll over hot beats. Catchy melodic hooks are delivered through smooth yet strong vocals. The lyrics are relatable and interestingly thought provoking. On a dynamically softer level, The Kinected’s musical approach creates soulful acoustic ballads. Perform-ing live, they improvise and expand on album cuts which keeps the energy on the dance floor and the crowd emotionally engaged.

Most of the members grew up in Florida rehearsing in their parent’s living rooms and creating music that spanned across various genres. Labeling Yärdij under one genre would be a limitation on the band’s mission. “Our goal isn’t to embody a certain genre or attract a certain people; it’s to simply make good music,” says Deja Elyze, lead vocalist
With a powerhouse sound like Paramore and Janis Joplin fused with the rhythmic mellow of Sublime, The Blue Room EP will connect with the listener on multiple levels. “We want people to have fun with our music, feel powerful, relatable and also gain a sense of awareness. We don’t like to solely base our music off love and having fun but also real problems that people deal with all around,” says Deja Elyze.
Since the group’s startup, Yärdij has quickly garnered statewide recognition and success, despite being a relatively new band. They are the opening group for Florida’s Sunfest, performing on the main stage at Florida Music Festival and are finalists in the Hard Rock Rising competition.
